Upload a photo of the whole shirt: a single view or the front and back together. The Extractor recognizes the garment, separates each piece and rebuilds the print flat; what the photo does not show, such as the back or the other sleeve, is completed by AI and marked. Then you pick the size or measurement, use the Mesa template or your own and export the sheet. Fabrics with a repeating pattern come out as a single fabric, and teams load names and numbers in the Mesa. Your first garment is a gift.

How to turn a photo of a sublimated shirt into a sublimation print file

  1. Upload the garment photo. A photo of the whole shirt in good light. One view or the front and back together work, as PNG, JPG or WebP up to 25 MB.
  2. The Extractor reads the garment and builds the pieces. It recognizes the garment, separates the front, back, sleeve and logos, and rebuilds each piece flat, as if the shirt were laid out on its template. What the photo does not show is completed by AI and marked.
  3. Download the pieces or take them to the Mesa. Each piece comes out at 150 DPI, the resolution of sublimation. Pick the size or measurement, use the Mesa template or your own, and export the sheet ready to print.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get the design of a full print shirt from a photo?

Yes. Upload the garment photo to the Sublimation Extractor: it separates the front, back, sleeves and logos and rebuilds them as flat pieces for sublimation. The result depends on the photo; check it before printing.

What happens to the back and sleeves if the photo only shows the front?

AI completes them from the style of the front and marks them as inferred. If you have a photo of the back, the result is closer to the original.

What quality do the pieces come out in?

At 150 DPI, the resolution of sublimation, enlarged with Super Resolution. If you need more detail, improve the image first with the image quality tool.

Does it work for team jerseys with names and numbers?

Yes. In the Mesa you load the player list and each jersey comes out with its name and number.

Does it work with leggings, dresses or repeating fabric prints?

Yes. Fabric mode detects that the garment is a repeating pattern and outputs it as a single fabric that fills any template.

Can I use my own shirt template?

Yes. Upload your template as a PDF and the Mesa recognizes the front, back and sleeves; or download the pieces in rectangles and put your template on top.

Which photos work best?

A photo of the whole garment, straight on, in good light and with nothing covering it. If the image is not a garment, the Extractor does not charge and offers you other tools.

How much does it cost and is there a free trial?

Your first garment is a gift. After that you pay with your plan's credits: a complete garment is about 10 credits.

Can I copy another brand's or a team's jersey?

Use the Extractor only with your own designs, your customer's or with permission. Third-party brands and crests are protected and are not reproduced without authorization.

Is it the same as removing the background?

No. Background removal cuts out what surrounds an image. Here the design is printed on a garment, with folds and perspective: it has to be separated from the fabric and rebuilt as flat pieces.
